When people think of hunger, they often picture big cities or faraway places. But the truth is…hunger exists right here in our own community.

Did You Know… Over 100 Local Children Are Experiencing Homelessness?

In the Ridgefield School District alone, there are over 100 children whose families are living in their cars.

Let that sink in.

These are kids who go to school with our children. They sit in classrooms, attend local events, and try to focus on learning—while facing uncertainty about where they’ll sleep or when they’ll eat next. 

This is such a sad situation. No child should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

Hunger Doesn’t Look the Same for Everyone

The families we serve are incredibly diverse:

• Senior citizens on fixed incomes 
• Working families struggling with rising costs 
• Individuals from all backgrounds, races, and walks of life 

Hunger doesn’t discriminate—and neither do we.

Everyone who comes through our doors is welcomed with dignity, compassion, and support.

Every Week, 45–60 Families Rely on Food Assistance

Each Tuesday, between 10:00 AM and 12:45 PM, dozens of families line up for help—not because they want to, but because they need to.

Food boxes provided by Neighbors Helping Neighbors include:

• Fresh produce and dairy 
• Bread and pantry staples 
• Government commodities from the Clark County Food Bank 
• Donations from local partners like Rosauers and Costco 
• Community “Green Bag” donations collected from the community on a bi-monthly basis.

For many, this food is the difference between getting by… and going without.

A Community That Cares

The good news? Ridgefield is full of compassionate people who want to help.

From grocery stores donating surplus food to neighbors filling Green Bags, this is what community looks like in action.

But the need continues to grow.
