Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a Ridgefield-based food bank that has served
individuals and families throughout Ridgefield, La Center, Felida, Salmon Creek
and surrounding communities for more than 40 years.
Its mission is to provide food resources and essential needs that strengthen the
well-being of the community, with a vision of a healthy community free of hunger
and full of hope.
Serving Our Community
Neighbors Helping Neighbors serves families, children, veterans, retirees and
people from a wide range of backgrounds. Anyone in need of assistance who comes
to the food bank is welcome.
In recent years, the food bank has grown to meet increasing community need.
Today, Neighbors Helping Neighbors serves approximately 50 to 75 families each
week, providing nutritious food as well as household essentials such as cleaning
supplies, personal hygiene products, diapers, incontinence supplies and other
necessities as funding and donations allow.
Our Impact
In 2025, 485 families and individuals registered for assistance, with some
returning weekly to help meet their household needs.
Over the course of the year, Neighbors Helping Neighbors distributed more than
300,000 pounds of food and essential goods and is on track to exceed that amount
in 2026.
Nutritional information is included with food boxes, and home deliveries are
available for clients who are unable to travel to the food bank.
Community Partnerships
Open on Tuesdays, Neighbors Helping Neighbors is the only certified food bank in
the area eligible to receive food deliveries from the Clark County Food Bank.
The organization also receives food and support through the Ridgefield Green Bag
program, Costco, Rosauers, McDonald’s, local churches, farmers, gleaners and other
community partners and donors.
Meeting a Growing Need
The need for assistance continues to grow as the rising cost of food, housing
and everyday necessities affects households throughout the community. Young
families are working to make ends meet, while many retirees are finding that
today’s cost of living has stretched beyond what they anticipated.
For more than four decades, Neighbors Helping Neighbors has worked to help fill
that gap. With the continued support of local donors, businesses, organizations
and volunteers, the food bank remains committed to ensuring its neighbors have
access to food and essential resources, and to building a community free of
hunger and full of hope.
